Thank you for writing this. Being a woman is hard in this country, but being a woman in SC is harder because so many people here support the laws that are holding us back. It’s hard to find like-minded people to talk to about the way our country is changing and not for the betterment of everyone.
Dr. Emily Taylor - you are a passionate feminist, clear thinker and writer, and a compassionate friend, exactly the type of person we need to help navigate these times. Thanks for leading with hope and imagination. I look forward to joining the journey with you!
My dear, As a woman I must say that modern feminists might be a bit brainwashed in what they imagine to be ideal. If you believe in evolution then consider that millions of years of evolution have led to a system where one sex has the babies and takes care of their early needs a bit more than the other while the other gender/sex is free to work to keep mother and child safe and provided for at this vulnerable early stage. It's actually a very wise system whether you want to give credit to God's wisdom and love or to the evolutionary process. Fighting that is a waste of time and completely irrational. Men and women are biologically different for good reason. My feminist utopia is a world which caters to the biological needs of women so flexible jobs etc. to make child rearing easier instead of trying to force women to be like men.

Yes. So much yes. Thank you for the little mental pick-me-up in this somewhat dark time. I’ll definitely add those titles to my reading list.
