I often notice the strained facial muscles trying to look beyond themselves. I think he's trying to stay focused on the task at hand by using the tip of his nose as a guide so he doesn't trip over his own book of evil, it happens to be rather large. It's what a lot of sociopaths have, a complex called Rude Off the Red Nose maybe you should consider HEADGEAR.

My mom is from Appalachia. So I spent vast swathes of my childhood there. I never read his book because I didn't want to relive it.
It was a terrible, condescending book. With reading only to gain an insight of what Vance truly is.
I cannot bring myself to read it. Only bright side is that Vance is so unlikable that hopefully it drags the ticket down (fingers crossed)?
