Hot Feminism: Letters from South Carolina emerged from the crucible of Roe falling but is actually the result of being raised by strong Southern women who taught me how to speak up when things aren’t right. And there is a lot that isn’t right in South Carolina.
My goal here is to apply an intersectional feminist lens to local and state issues so we can really understand how the patriarchy functions in our region. I regularly host (and pay) guest writers, so please consider supporting the newsletter through a paid subscription. Thanks for reading!

I teach literature and Women's and Gender Studies at Presbyterian College in rural South Carolina. I write mostly academic articles and essays on Caribbean literature, in between raising two children in Greenville.
