My first piece for The Arena on back to school and Nebraska roots

, South Carolina’s only progressive media company. They’re doing great things—check them out and follow/subscribe. I wrote about why back to school is a joyful time for parents. It’s not just getting back to a structured schedule, but for working families it’s a huge economic relief. While South Carolina forces people to have children and then offers very minimal support, other states have parental leave policies and child tax credits. Midwestern dads FTW. Here’s my piece:
We had a really engaging book club Zoom on Wednesday, and look forward to doing it again soon. Let me know if you have any suggestions, and happy weekend.
You go, Emily Taylor!!

The dream :)
